Symbiome The Answer Serum for Hair growth

Updated: Aug 9, 2024

In the last 4 yrs, we have experienced an explosion in the direct-to-consumer marketing of scalp-specific products advertised to help hair grow healthy.

I will be reviewing some of these in a separate article.

Unfortunately for those who are losing hair, selecting a product can be a very difficult process. Navigating through the product claims, ingredient lists, costumer reviews can be exhausting. One issue many people encounter is the dreaded trial and error period.

Once you purchase something, how long should it be used to see results?

It is at this point that many people fail to understand that most products do need to be used between 3-6 months consistently to achieve results.

That is if you made the right product choice which can lead to someone losing precious time. As we say in the Trichology industry, time is follicles.

One consistent trend of the scalp products available is high cost. Average cost range for most scalp serums is between $70-$300 per month. So if you're considering trying a product because you believe the claims or information provided by the company, you are expected to be ready to spend between $210-$1800 for a 3-6 month cycle.

People who go into this journey alone without the guidance of a Trichologist or hair loss practitioner usually waste months to years of precious time jumping from product to product and lose quite a bit of money in the process.

This is the reason your bathroom vanity may be full of half empty bottles that were never finished.

So please stop falling victim to social media advertising or influencer marketing. Rely on hair loss practitioners or Trichologists to guide your decision making process.

Hopefully my upcoming article on Scalp Serums for Hair Growth will be a valuable directory for those who do have the consistency and discipline of using a product for 3-6 months.

Given that cost is an important factor to consider, I realized many years ago that one of the reasons many scalp products do not seem to deliver results is because there was no adequate dispensing tools for these products. The majority of scalp serums are formulated to be dispensed using a dropper. So what happens is that most times a lot of the product is wasted on the hair, and it does not reach the scalp directly.

It is for this reason that I highly recommend using a Scalp dispensing tool like the one I listed at the end of an article about Jojoba Oil.

Once we have resolved the issue of dispensing the product to the target tissue, then cost becomes less of a concern because this tool will allow you to minimize waste and extend the durability of that product.

If you've read other of my articles or have worked with me, then you know that I am a minimalist at heart and always consider affordability before giving a suggestion.

That is why I've decided to share my experience and give this recommendation of a facial serum for scalp health.

As a scalp micropigmentation artist I get to physically "feel" scalp thickness using microneedles. What I have discovered after a decade of 'feeling' the internal scalp tissue is that people experiencing hair thinning have lost sufficient thickness and elasticity to suggest that improving both collagen and elastin dermal content is a potential way to restore hair follicle health.

There are very few products and methods designed to do this for the scalp, but we have a plethora of facial products with these exact outcomes in the formulation.

Symbiome's The Answer Serum has become my absolute favorite facial product for scalp health. One issue we encounter when using scalp products is that they don't absorb very well. They tend to sit on the surface of the scalp. This could potentially explain why so many people do not experience benefits when using a scalp product. It simply does not penetrate deep enough to deliver the active ingredients near hair follicles.

The Answer is one of the most absorbable facial serums I have ever used on a scalp. This is important because 50% of the content of The Answer is Adult Adipose Stem Cell Conditioned Media. This is one of the few brands in the world who has made available over the counter and without the need to go through a medical or aesthetics practice a Stem Cell Conditioned Media product at a fraction of the cost. The benefit is that many growth factors, peptides and exosomes essential for skin and hair follicle function can be concentrated in this conditioned media. This particular media contains Hyaluronic Acid and Pro-collagen.

If you have been sent this article, it is most likely because in working with your scalp, I have identified that scalp thickness is your issue.

Most importantly for our purposes is that the serum has been developed following principles learnt from skin microbiome research: keep the formulation simple (our microbiota does not need dozens of ingredients to thrive) and make sure its pH is as close to the natural pH of skin/scalp (pH 4.5-5).

Symbiome's The Answer Serum only has 6 ingredients: Adult Adipose Stem Cell Conditioned Media (contains Hyaluronic Acid and Pro-collagen), Water, Lactobacillus Ferment, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Leaf Oil, Protium Heptaphyllum (Breu) Resin.

In a separate article I will go more in depth on the reasons why I think these ingredients are ideal for scalp formulations. For now, I invite you to explore the science & philosophy behind Symbiome's formulations in these articles.
